About Us

Colin Turner started Flowers Naturally 30 years ago and he soon became on of Melbourne’s leading floral designers.

He has received much acclaim and respect from his peers for his great achievements, leadership and continuous contribution to the community through his involvement with charities, sponsorships and teaching within the industry.

In 1992 the Lord Mayor of Melbourne Ivan Deveson, presented Colin with a Certificate of Acknowledgement for his innovative floral design.

Colin was awarded Australia’s first Gold Medal in Floral Design at the prestigious Chelsea Flower show in England in 1995. He then added to this achievement by winning the gold again the next year at Chelsea as well as at the New Zealand Flower Show.

These achievements were recognised when Colin was chosen to create the floral component for the re-opening of the Regent Theatre and the grand opening of Crown Casino, both In Melbourne.

In 1998 Colin won gold and silver medals at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. He went on to win a consecutive gold medal at the same show the next year. Also in 1999, he won a silver medal at the Aaismere Holland Flower Show.

The Sydney Olympics in 2000 acknowledged Colin’s great success, when he was selected to be a part of the Torch Relay in Melbourne.

Also in 2000, Colin decided to live his dream of moving from the city to the country and open a floral studio, the likes never before seen and Albury was the destination.

His previous success internationally and in Melbourne was soon recognised in Albury. In 2002 Flowers Naturally won the Albury Central Service Award for Best Presented Retail Store and in 2003 it was recognised for the Best Overall Service in Retail.
